Summer Concert on the Flightline

Finally! Our first summer concert & the summer's almost over. Where did the time go? Next year, we'll have to try harder because it's good for the soul to get out of the house & listen to live music once in awhile. The stage was set up in one of our Air Force base hangars while concert-goers laid claim to the tarmac with an army of multi-colored blankets & lawn chairs. The artist was Heidi Newfield, formerly of the country group Trick Pony. A couple songs she sang that I recognized from her Trick Pony days were Pour Me & It's a Heartache. I just loved when she played the harmonica...so much fun! Kimberly Locke from American Idol was also there, but we left before she came on stage. By that time Jonah & I used up all our pocket change on beer & were ready to scarf down a large pizza...which we did. And which I don't recommend because we both woke up around 4 a.m. with heartburn & acid reflux. We laid in bed for awhile watching TV & snacking on Tums. Ah well, it was kind of worth it.
